30-HOUR CERTIFICATION
As human beings, we have the potential to rebalance our nervous systems, to connect with our true nature, to reclaim our wellbeing, and to spend more of our lives in a state of joy and ease.
As teachers, we can help facilitate this process of resilience-building by understanding, embodying, and then guiding students through practices that utilize the built-in resources of their own bodies.
The Brilliance Trauma-Informed Resilience-Focused training is a 30-hour certification program for yoga professionals and others who want to integrate resilience-building practices into their professional work.
Do no harm is the starting point. We first lay the foundation by:
-Building foundational understanding of trauma characteristics, neurophysiology, and impact on individuals and communities
-Exploring the role and responsibilities as trauma-informed yoga teachers
-Understanding SAMHSA’s Trauma-informed Care Principles to classes/group settings
-Applying Trauma-informed Care Principles to yoga teaching, including:
-Characteristics of a Trauma-informed yoga class
-Trauma-informed teaching best practices
-Trauma-informed language
-Empowered Consent
Beyond trauma-informed to resilience focused.
Resilience-focused yoga is a strengths-based approach that recognizes resilience as an innate capacity we all have access to, and utilizes yogic practices to intentionally develop that innate capacity through building and reinforcing coping skills, competencies, and capacity, while reinforcing connection with inner resources. You'll learn resilience-based theories and practices, including:
-Polyvagal Theory, The Central Nervous System + The Science of Safety
-Resilience + Post-Traumatic Growth
-Yogic and Ayurvedic frameworks and philosophy
-A mind-body toolkit of resilience practices that draws from ancient and modern modalities
Experience a new way of knowing, being and teaching.
WHAT YOU LEARN
In this training we will learn with our minds, our bodies, our innate intelligence, and with and from one another.
When we engage the whole-self in learning, it not only is retained, it becomes a part of who you are.
